Are things hard? Read this.

What are the things you want to tell yourself when things get hard? What are the things you need to hear when things get hard? If I am super honest about what I need to hear, this is it. This is for me and for you and for all of us, because we all need to hear it.

Oh, precious precious darling. You are everything. You are the moon and the stars and the pads of a kitten’s paw as they stretch their hand towards a feather dancing on the breeze. You are the gush of scent from spring lilacs, the chill of ice-cold lemonade during a heat wave, the crackle of burnt orange leaves beneath your feet. You are the glint of a sunbeam glowing through a window, the velvet of a horse’s nose, the watermelon smell of fresh-fallen snow. You are the hush of clean snow blanketing the earth, the wind on an autumn day, the tang of just-mown alfalfa. You are everything that is right in the world.

You have been through so much, more than anyone could be asked to bear, and you are still here. You are a miracle. You are what makes life worth living.

You are so, so loved.

I know this is hard. I know this is unthinkable and too much. I know you don’t have enough in you to keep going.

But please, keep going anyways.

Breathe. Rest. Sleep. Eat. Nourish yourself like the precious, perfect self you are. There could be no one more perfect than you. Nothing you do will ever change that. Nothing you do could ever change that.

And there it is: everything you will ever need to know. Everything there is to offer. Please take it. It is as true as anything ever has been or ever will be.

Is this hard to read? Is this hard to hear? The difficulty in reading this is directly related to the love - or lack of love - you have for yourself. If love and care for yourself are a bit hard to come by right now, I hope these words can bring a tiny bit of light for you.
